Zee Entertainment launches refreshed version of 'Zee Khana Khazana'

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. has announced a refreshed version of its 24-hour food channel - Zee Khana Khazana. Swastika Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. managed the press launch for the same at Mayfair Banquets in Mumbai on Feb. 18. Other than announcing the refreshed version, the channel announced four new shows for the audience. Around 50 press representatives for print and TV news media were present.


The event started with the emcee inviting Punit Goenka (MD - Zee Entertainment Enterprise Ltd.) on stage for his opening speech where he welcomed the media and explained the ideology of the channel. He then invited Amit Nair (Business Head - Zee Khana Khazana) who talked about the new shows. The host of the new shows were also invited to announce their shows and talk about their shows.


After this, Goenka and Nair along with Gaurav Jang (AVP - Programming, Zee Khana Khazana) had a brief open session with the media regarding the ideology of the channel and its future plans. Finally, all the hosts of the new shows were asked to prepare their signature dishes live at a counter near the stage.


Speaking at the conference, Punit Goenka CEO, MD of Zee Networks Enterprize Ltd. said: "We are proud of the iconic stature the brand Khana Khazana has achieved in the last 20 years. It is extremely popular and very well recognized. The channel decided to refresh their content to meet the current needs of the Indian homemaker."


A designer stage with AV projection screen was installed to showcase the channel's AV and also to felicitate the speech with the presentation. A counter was made to showcase few of the known recipes of the show. All the material required for the live cooking act was arranged so chefs could showcase a few recipes in for the media. Being a food channel's press conference, a wide variety of dinner buffet with different cuisines and recipes was organized for the press and the guests.


Speaking about the event, Amit Verma, Director, Swastika Entertainment said: "The mandate given to us was to create the setup in an elegant and classy manner. We has to make it look like a unique cookery channel press conference so we installed a live cooking zone for the host chef near the stage. Since it was like a launch of a food channel, the entire setup was done to make sure the the look and feel of the show was depicted."


Zee Khana Khazana, India's first 24-hour food channel, is debuting four brand new shows every Wednesday Feb. 20 onwards. The shows are Food Ka Mood, Bachcha Party, Breakfast Express and Ab Har Koi Chef. In addition to this, the channel has retained 13 shows from the earlier programming line-up. Also, the new shows coming up later will have a few lifestyle-based shows.


The channel has recently taken on-board a new creative agency - Scarecrow, the marketing campaign will start soon. The channel has decided to continue with the same pricing while it will be extending its base to all the DTH platforms by the end of the year (currently present only on Dish TV and Videocon d2h). The channel is already available on all the digital cables. All shows are highly interactive with the audience being offered the chance to get in touch with the channel's chefs and anchors via a call or SMS or email thereby taking the engagement level a notch higher.
